New York is the hardest-hit state with more than 40 per cent of all US deaths and nearly 115,000 reported cases on Saturday (local time).

Singapore has now ordered the closure of all businesses deemed non-essential

A Chinese World Heritage national park has been forced to shut down after thousands of visitors flouted social distancing rules.

The Huangshan Mountains, or Yellow Mountains, in China’s eastern Anhui province, was swamped with more than 20,000 visitors, exceeding the park’s capacity.

Japan PM Abe to declare state of emergency as early as Tuesday

Spain has arrested more than 300,000 people for flouting coronavirus restrictions and fined a similar number.

Singapore has seen its highest daily jump in cases — with 120 reported in 24 hours — as the government quarantines large numbers of foreign workers.
